Producer guide
Is there a secure computer built for insurance agents?
Yes. SP+ is a workstation built by SecureProspective for insurance agents and financial advisors. It is a Fedora-based immutable desktop, encrypted from installation, with applications contained wherever practical. The workstation installs and runs today as an alpha release to partnered producers. The AI-assisted advisor layer on top of it is still being built.
Most agents do not have one. They handle client Social Security numbers, policy data, and retirement assets on a general-purpose computer set up for home use. This page covers what makes any agent's computer safe for client data, and where SP+ fits.
What makes a computer safe for client data?
Federal privacy law and state insurance data security rules expect agents to protect their clients' nonpublic personal information. On the computer itself, that comes down to a few things:
- Encryption. If the laptop is lost or stolen, the files on it should be unreadable.
- A system that does not drift. The operating system should change only through managed updates, not through whatever an installer or a background process decides to do.
- Containment. When one application is compromised, it should not reach everything else on the machine.
- Separation. The machine that holds client files should not be the family computer.
How does SP+ do it?
Encrypted from installation
Full-disk encryption is built into the setup model, protecting client files when a laptop is lost, misplaced, or stolen.
An immutable operating system
The core system is immutable and updated as a managed image. That reduces accidental damage, configuration drift, and unauthorized background changes.
Applications contained where practical
Applications are isolated wherever practical, so a compromised app has a smaller blast radius and a harder path to the rest of the system.
Help in plain English
SP+ connects the Pi AI harness to the advisor's own Claude or ChatGPT subscription. Take a screenshot of a carrier portal or an email setup screen, and get the next steps in plain English. The advisor stays in control.
What does SP+ not do?
SP+ is not a replacement for multi-factor authentication, secure email, offsite backups, or a formal compliance program. The goal is not perfect security. It is a smaller attack surface and a foundation you can inspect.
How does a producer get SP+?
SP+ is not sold. Producers who place five production contracts with SecureProspective, selected with Christopher Campbell, qualify for it. There is no software fee and no recurring SP+ subscription.
- A fit review of the practice, its current workstation, and how it will be used.
- The five-contract qualification.
- Compatibility confirmation: the computer, the installation, and the migration.
- Deployment of the encrypted immutable image and the Pi harness.
The full access model is on the SP+ page. To start, ask for a fit review.
What should any agent's computer have, with or without SP+?
- Full-disk encryption turned on.
- A computer used only for the business.
- A standard user account for daily work, not an administrator account.
- Automatic operating system and application updates.
- Multi-factor authentication on email, carrier portals, and cloud storage.
- A password manager, with a different password for every account.
- Backups kept somewhere other than the computer, and tested.
Questions producers ask
Is there a computer built specifically for insurance agents?
Yes. SP+, built by SecureProspective, is a Fedora-based immutable workstation for insurance agents and financial advisors, encrypted from installation, with applications contained wherever practical. The workstation is released as an alpha to partnered producers. The AI-assisted advisor layer on top of it is still in build.
Is SP+ available now?
The workstation installs and runs today as an alpha release to partnered producers, and it is under continuous test. The advisor layer, the assistance and workflow that make it specific to advisory work, is still being built.
What does SP+ cost?
There is no software fee and no recurring SP+ subscription. Access is earned through a partnership: producers who place five production contracts with SecureProspective, selected with Christopher Campbell, qualify for SP+.
Will SP+ run on the computer I have?
Not necessarily. SP+ is not represented as compatible with every machine. Hardware compatibility, installation, and migration scope are confirmed before anything is deployed.
Does SP+ make my practice compliant?
No. SP+ is a stronger foundation, not a compliance program. It does not replace multi-factor authentication, secure email, offsite backups, or a formal compliance program.
Does SP+ use AI?
SP+ integrates the Pi AI harness into the desktop and connects it to the advisor's own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, which is separate. It is built to be human-held: it explains the next step in plain English, and the advisor decides.
